Build it right. Tailored to your dreams.
Wind & Snow Load
Dreams Carports manufactures buildings to engineer specifications and offers certified options to meet local building codes. If your city or county requires higher performance, we'll customize your building to comply.
Snow Load
Standard snow load options range from 30 PSF ground snow load up to 60 PSF. For areas requiring more, we offer certified buildings up to 90 PSF (additional cost).
- • Heavy Duty 12-gauge steel frames available
- • Closer on-center spacing for bows/legs on certified buildings
- • One brace on every leg included with certified structures
- • Optional side panels help reduce wind-blown rain/snow
- • Engineered drawings available (additional charge)
Quick Reference (Ground Snow Load)
- 10 PSF — Typically rainfall equivalency
- 20 PSF — Moderate snow / minimum for carports
- 25 PSF — Moderate snow
- 30 PSF — Moderate to heavy snow
- 40 PSF — Heavy mountain snow
- 50 PSF — High mountain snow
- 60 PSF — Extreme high mountain snow
Always confirm with your city/county building department for the official requirement.
Wind Load
Wind load certification helps ensure your building can withstand high winds. Proper anchors are essential and part of the overall wind resistance system. If certification isn't added at installation time, the structure may be vulnerable during severe weather.
- • Certified wind ratings to meet local code
- • Anchoring options for concrete slabs or dirt/gravel sites
- • Engineered drawings with wind/snow certification available
- • Upgrades recommended for hurricane/tornado-prone areas
Good to Know
Local codes vary. We'll help you select the correct certification and anchoring method for your site. For official requirements, contact your local building department for specific wind/snow load requirements in your area.
