Snow Load

Dreams Carports & Buildings Inc., manufacturers their buildings to Engineer Specifications.

Our Standard Snow loads range from 30Lb PSF Ground Snow Load up to 60Lb PSF Ground Snow Load.

Do you live in an area that requires a higher snow load? Dreams will customize your building and make it to code for you city or county requirement.

Our Heavy Snow Load Metal Buildings are constructed with the Heavy Duty 12 Gauge Steel Frame, and the bows/legs are spaced closer on center, one brace on every leg is included when purchasing a certified building.

We also offer a variety of options with our Heavy Snow Load Standard Size Carports. You should consider purchasing additional panels down the side of your carport to keep the snow and rain from blowing onto your vehicles or equipment.

We offer Snow loads up to 90Lb PSF Ground Snow Load Certification for an additional cost.

Metal structures make excellent garages, sheds, carports, canopies, carport covers, shelters, boat canopy covers, shed garage kits, RV covers, barn storage buildings, sheet metal buildings, metal sheds kits, and much more. Any of these types of buildings can reach any snow load needed.

When required, Dreams Carports & Buildings, Inc., can provide Engineered Drawings for an additional charge, with wind and snow load certification for any of our metal carports and steel garages. Receive all the specifications on how your building will be built.

See below our chart that can assist you in choosing what snow load could cover in your area. (If going by city code, please contact your city or county Building Department.)

Snow Load is based on PSF (Pounds per Square Foot), below are some Standard Requirements:

10 Pounds PSF Live or Ground Snow Load – Generally refers to rain fall.

20 Pounds PSF Live or Ground Snow Load – Moderate Snow Fall or Minimum for Carports.

25 Pounds PSF Ground Snow Load – Moderate Snow Fall.

30 Pounds PSF Ground Snow Load – Moderate to Heavy Snow Fall.

40 Pounds PSF Ground Snow Load – Heavy Mountain Snow Fall.

50 Pounds PSF Ground Snow Load – High Mountain Snow Fall.

60 Pounds PSF Ground Snow Load – Extreme High Mountain Snow Fall.

Wind Load

In order for a Carport or Building to be secure, Dreams Carports & Buildings, Inc. highly recommends that the Building must be strong and wind resistant. When purchasing a Carport it is important to consider the wind load certification to ensure that the structure can withstand high winds, especially if the building is located in an area known for inclement weather.

The main Wind Load resisting system of a building is a vital component. Wind load calculations can be difficult to figure out because the wind is unpredictable, proper anchors are an essential part of the building life. If Wind Load certification is NOT added at the time of installation the resulting effects could incur in the collapsed of the Building.

Dreams Carports always gives the option to have you upgrade your building to the Wind Load certification. We at Dreams Carports & Buildings care for the carport or building you purchase. We want you to have these building for a long term.

Contact a Dreams Carports & Buildings, Inc. specialist for quotes on Wind Load Certifications for any of our Steel Buildings.

Note: Consult your local building department for your specific area requirement.
